The Automotive Distributors Association (ODD) disclosed that sales of cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey were 94,733 units in October 2020, an increase of 93% on the figure for the same month of the previous year. Sales of cars increased 90.9% to 76,341 units, and sales of light commercial vehicles increased 102.6% to 18,392 units in October 2020 compared with the same month of the previous year.
These continued improved sales figures come as a surprise considering that state banks have discontinued their attractive loan packages first initiated in June, that higher Special Consumption Tax rates were introduced at the end of August for larger models, and that the pandemic and economic recession show no signs of relenting.
