Turkey’s central administration gross debt stock is USD 248 billion in July 2020

According to figures prepared by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Turkey’s central administration gross debt was Turkish liras 1,720.9 billion (USD 248 billion) as of July 31st, 2020, an increase of 4.9% compared to the previous month in Turkish lira value.

 

This debt stock represents the outstanding debt of public sector institutions and the Central Bank. The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was TL 6.94 at the end of July 2020 and TL 6.85 at the end of June 2020.

 

Of the total gross debt stock, TL 829.2 billion (USD 119.5 billion), or 48.2%, was denominated in Turkish liras while TL 891.7 billion (USD 128.5 billion), or 51.8%, was in foreign currency.
